As far as Lucille remembers, she always wanted to be an artist. She started drawing at an early preschool age and continues to draw to this day. She altogether can't explain this desire to draw, to paint and to create. It just exists within her and it must be expressed. From her conversations with fellow artists, Lucille knows that her feelings are not unique. The creative process is universal among artists and Lucille knows that she is blessed to be able to bring it forth to everyone who views her work.

Her favorite genre is people, not portraiture, but people in their very natural surroundings. People at work, at leisure, at play; people alone or with others, where their humanness and self-realization surfaces. Occasionally she hires models, sometimes friends and frequently has documented aspects of her children's lives. She strives for a candid quality of casual rather than planned encounters.
